The Saint Barnabas Choir

St Barnabas’ Choir

St. Barnabas’ Choir is a mixed vocal ensemble dedicated to delivering sublime sacred music from various periods, with a profound focus on the magnificent classical repertoire. The choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7 to 9 ᴘ.ᴍ., and sings every Sunday for the 10 ᴀ.ᴍ. Eucharist, as well as for Christmas, Easter, and other special events. The choir will also participate in the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.

Choral Scholarships are available for college and university students who sing in the choir.

To arrange an appointment or acquire further information, please reach out to our directors of music, Francine Nguyen-Savaria and Matthieu Latreille, via email at OrganDuo.com@gmail.com.

Les francophones sont également les bienvenus. Les directeurs musicaux sont bilingues.

Help Us Keep the Music Alive at St. Barnabas

For the past three years, the Choral Scholarship Programme has brought beautiful music to our worship, while supporting and mentoring young musicians. With recent changes to national funding guidelines, this programme now depends on private support to survive.

Former scholars express how much this programme impacted their lives:

The Choral Scholarship programme helped me grow as a musician and as a leader, but more importantly, it gave me a true sense of belonging. The choir became a second family. — Renato Araujo

When I joined the choir, my home country was going through an extremely difficult period, and I was struggling financially. Without this scholarship, I would not have been able to continue singing. The choir gave me hope, belonging, and the strength to keep pursuing my passion for music. — Parand Bolbolabadi

My identity as a queer musician is incredibly important to me, and it is difficult to find a church that not only celebrates my identity, but also encourages me to continue down a loving road of music-making and community. Overall, I would not be the musician, person, and student I am today if it had not been for the Choral Scholarship. — Len Crino

Your gift will help us continue offering scholarships to talented choristers, ensuring that our music — and this life-changing programme — endures.
