One of his first jobs was in Northern Rhodesia(Zambia) building roads and attempting to learn the local language from the men working for him which created lots of laughs. Moving to England for a year where he met Betty his future beloved wife. Then Montreal, working in Northern Quebec before joining QIT-Fer et Titane(Rio Tinto) in Sorel for 33 years. In the mid 1970s QIT started the construction of a Smelter plant and Charles returned to South Africa, where he spent 10 years. Returning to reconnect with family and friends, as well as his love for steam trains, field hockey, cricket, and tennis (played with Betty until Covid-19). While in South Africa Charles and Betty enjoyed the beautiful beaches, Games Reserves (wild Africa animals) of which are captured in numerous photos. Making new friends from all over the world. Once retired Charles and Betty traveled the world visiting various countries and old friends and family returning to South Africa numerous times.<br>Music was an important part of Charles`s life from listening to classical music, attending concerts, being a longtime member of the St. Lambert Choral Society. His appetite for a good book was an ongoing and consistent passion throughout his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduating from Sir George Williams University (Concordia) with a BA Science in 1952, his career in pharmaceuticals with Merck Frosst spanned 42 years until his retirement as Director of Systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Chateauguay, the family moved to St. Lambert in 1959 and became members of St. Barnabas Church. A loyal and strong parishioner, he was engaged in the wellbeing of his church, as shown by his participation in committees, activities, and the choir. &nbsp;A kind and generous person, he was awarded the Governor General\u2019s Caring Canadian Award in 2000 in recognition of what he gave of himself to his fellow citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul is now reunited with his loving wife Ruby, with whom he enjoyed 63 years of marriage before her passing in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul is survived by his son Peter (late Dena); his grandchildren Michael (Andra), Heidi (Alex), Lisa (Charles), Eric, Amy (Wil); great-grandchildren Genevieve and Vienna, Branden, Nathan, Shaun, and Spencer; Sister-in-law Barbara, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is predeceased by his daughter Susan (David) and his grandson Matthew (Patricia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and support staff at the CHSLD Champlain as well as the CLSC Samuel-de-Champlain. We appreciate the excellent care and attention you provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funeral will take place at <strong>St. Barnabas Church<\/strong> on Saturday May 17th at 2pm.<br>95 Lorne Ave., St. Lambert, Qc. Surrounded by her family, Heather said her final farewell as she was welcomed into heaven&#8217;s gates.<br><br>Born in Moose-Jaw, Saskatchewan, Heather lived a life filled with compassion, strength, and unwavering faith. She loved with every inch of her heart and gave of herself without hesitation. Wherever she was needed, Heather was there, always offering kindness, support, and a warm light that lifted those around her.<br><br>Heather\u2019s greatest pride and joy were her three sons, Rod, Andrew, and Hughie, whom she loved more than words could ever express. Through every challenge and triumph, they remained her guiding light and her purpose.<br><br>A woman of immense creativity, Heather found joy in crocheting countless beautiful pieces over the years, and more recently developed a deep passion for diamond painting. Her artistic spirit reflected the vibrant soul within, a soul that touched others deeply and left a lasting imprint on every heart she encountered.<br><br>Heather was also deeply rooted in her faith. Her relationship with God was raw, honest, and unshakable. It guided her through life and was a constant source of comfort and strength.<br><br>She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Judy and Alana; her children, Roderick, William Andrew, and Hugh; her cherished grandchildren, Steven, Emma, Sofia, and Aiden; and her dear nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by her mother, Rhona Kay; her father, Robert Allan Farrell; and her stepfather, Douglas Kay.<br><br>The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the palliative care team at the CHUM, with special appreciation for Robert, who was truly Heather&#8217;s angel in her final days. We are also deeply grateful to Dr. Provencher and Katherine for their unwavering guidance and support throughout this journey. A sincere thank you as well to Rev. He left behind his beloved wife Toula of over 52 years, his wonderful and cherished daughters, Lisa (Paul Carter) and Stephanie (Adam Griffiths). He adored his grandchildren, Michaela, Logan, and Quinn Carter and Lynn and Alexandra Griffiths. He was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Snelgrove. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. His family meant the world to him.<br><br>Ron graduated in 1970 from Sir George Williams University (Concordia) with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Major in Accounting. He then went to McGill and became a Chartered Accountant. He started his career with Campbell, Sharp, Nash, &amp; Field, which merged with Pannell Kerr MacGillivray, and he spent the rest of his career at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. He was a member of the Order of CPAS of Quebec for 54 years.<br><br>Ron would not call himself an \u201cathlete,\u201d but in his lifetime he took up skiing, golf, basketball, badminton, soccer, tennis, squash, racquetball, and swimming. Most of all, Ron loved to play golf with his daughters and his golf buddies. He was a member of the Country Club of Montreal for 50 years. He also enjoyed playing cribbage at the St-Lambert Curling Club, was an avid reader, and loved doing Sudokus and crossword puzzles.<br><br>Ron was kind, smart, funny, generous, loyal, and honorable. He had a great sense of humor, and he loved to joke around and put people at ease.<br>He was taken from us far too early. Ron will always be missed and will forever be in our hearts.<br><br>Special thanks go out to the doctors, nurses, and support staff of the 4th floor Palliative Care at Charles Lemoyne Hospital and the Palliative care unit of CHSLD Samuel de Champlain-Brossard. Wigglesworth &#8211; <em>n\u00e9e Jane Sandeman Allen<\/em><br>August 27, 1937 ~ February 4, 2024<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our dear Jane was born August 27<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;1937 in London, England, Jane passed away without any sign of distress to join Our Lord on February 4<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;2024.&nbsp;She was enjoying&nbsp;a swim with her husband David Wigglesworth while on holiday in Antigua.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a remarkably talented art teacher, Jane met David Wigglesworth, now her retired architect husband, whom she married in her home town of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire on April 18<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;1964. In 1965 they left England with their baby son Michael, to live in Montr\u00e9al where their daughter Susan was born in 1971.&nbsp;Susan later&nbsp;married S\u00e9bastien Dubois and have two daughters, \u00c9liane and Am\u00e9lie, who are now students at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al and at Dawson College. Jane also leaves her younger sister Philippa, who is married to Patrick Sarsfield Hall, an active farmer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jane&nbsp;was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others as a loyal servant of God. She was dedicated to loving and caring for her family, friends, and community. She was&nbsp;trained at Manchester University and taught art in a girls\u2019 grammar school in London, taught at the Pr\u00e9ville Fine Arts Centre and exhibited her work in many galleries. Jim is predeceased by his parents Edward (Eddie) Grant and Edith Hopkins, and his sister Judy (Glen)&nbsp;<br>Jim was born on June 15th, 1940, in Cardston, Alberta and he spent most of his life in the Montreal area. He attended Bishop&#8217;s University where he and Sally met. After school, they lived in various parts of Quebec starting in Hudson and lastly settling in Saint Lambert. Jim was known for his wonderful baking skills, in particular his bread making which he has fortunately taught and passed on to his two sons much to the enjoyment of their families. He was a very active and fun father from running marathons in Vermont, skiing at Owl&#8217;s Head, camping at Mt. Mansfield, canoeing on the Allagash and spending summers at their beloved cottage in Vermont on Lake Champlain. He will also be remembered for his love of a good limerick and his great sense of humor.&nbsp;<br>The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff at the Charles Lemoyne Hospital who were extremely supportive during this difficult time.&nbsp;<br>Funeral will be held at St-Barnabus Church, 95 Lorne Avenue in St. Lambert, on December 8th, 2023, at 1 p.m. followed by a reception in the church Memorial Hall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We give thanks for these lives lived according to the promise of eternal life.
